The vitorious mobilizations in defence of the people’s rights, ( as it occurred on August 13th), especially the General Strike on June 14th, have been a clear demonstration of people’s repudiation, in the countryside and in the cities, against the draconian measures on the cuts of rights on social security laws and educational policies, measures that have been imposed by the preventive counter-revolutionary offensive of the reactionary Armed Forces that have seized the facist Bolsonaro’s government.
Bolsonaro’s hosts and the press of the monopoly media did everything to disregard the initiatives of the workers and combative youth who paralised factories, means of transport, public services in general, public and private schools. Opportunism, on the other hand, has played the role to deviate the masses struggle into voting-getting purposes with several subterfuges as their “Free Lula”. However, all of them have miserably failed.
Recently, on August 13th, a new wave of demonstrations shaked the state capitals and main cities in Brasil, driving forward the struggle against the proposal of the reactionary plotters to attack workers’ and youth’s rights. Several capitals in the country counted on the decisive, enthusiastic and stimulating participation of the combative youth and many working categories led by class tradeunions and revolutionary organizations of students and people’s youth, conforming, little by little, the nucleus of the leadership of people’s resistance through villages and cities, all over the country’s regions.
Watchwords have been written in large banners and shouted by the demonstrators with the slogans of “General Strike of National Resistance” and “General Strike Against the ‘Social Welfare Reform’”. The demonstrators have also burnt USA and Israel flags, repudiating Bolsonaro’s subservience as well as his government tutored by the Armed Forces and his announced country-traitor projects.
It does not matter that the proposal of the scammers have passed in the putrefied House of Representatives, a den of corrupt elements. It never mind either the proposal has had the same road in Senate, a refuge of the landownership-bureaucratic oligarchy, servants to imperialism.They can pass a thousand laws on their benefit, stepping on the few rights conquered by the people in hard struggles. These remainders of feudalism operate under the old republic saying:” For the friends, everything, for the indiferents, the law, and for the enemies the harshness of law”. That means, for the ruling class, that the law is just a detail. When the law prevents them to increase the exploitation and oppression of the subjugated classes, they simply alter the law.
The mobilizations and the people’s struggle at the same time resist to the attacks to the people’s rights by the counter-revolutionary offensive and must renounce and repel all idea to choose one side in the fights of the power groups of the ruling classes either of the situation or the “opposition”. But the masses must not take sides in the dirty palacian quarrels between the High Command of the Armed Forces’ right-wing and Bolsonaro’s extreme right-wing group.
Like the idea of the “lesser evil”, defended by the old opportunists at every election, reactionary sectors present nowadays a proposal of: “to deliver the government to the “big centre”, through establishing parlamentarism, commanded by the old plagues, professional corrupts like Rodrigo Maia.
The slogan raised in the demonstrations by the revolutionary democratic forces: “Neither Bolsonaro nor Mourão! Neither a Congress of Corrupts! Neither Reactionary Armed Forces!” must be completd with the slogan: “For the New Democracy Revolution!”
Only the Revolution of New Democracy, with the waging of the Agrarian and Anti-Imperialist Revolution will be able to sweep away all this dross and build up a New Brasil.
