Opportunism will sink with the old order

After the conviction of Luiz Inacio in the first instance by Judge Sergio Moro, PT and its “Pecedobê” sub acronym decided to put the campaign “election without Lula is fraud” in the square. This deception is easily unmasked by the history of all the elections held in Brazil, including the four in which PT was the winner. From where the dear reader can conclude that “election with Lula is also a fraud”.

The vote in the Democratic Republic

The bourgeois revolution (eighteenth and nineteenth centuries) to abolish, including physically, the aristocracy and its old regime, established the Bourgeois Democratic Republic. With the vigor of being still a revolutionary class, the bourgeoisie eliminated privileges and, in general, democratized the ownership of the land, giving access to it to the peasants or developing capitalist production in the countryside, expanding the consumer market, industry and consequently the proletariat.

The bourgeois state consolidated the national independence, institutionalized the division of powers with elective positions and the universality of the vote. With the armed force that had conquered power he defended it by anchoring himself in it, reinforcing it and perfecting it as a permanent army, besides a stable bureaucratic machine and subject to clear rules of operation. The system, therefore, had a form that matched its content.

It is important to point out that with the passage of capitalism from its stage of free competition to the monopolist, giving rise to imperialism, and with the advent of the triumph of the proletarian revolution (the Great Socialist Revolution of October 1917 in Russia), an inevitable product of the imperialist epoch, the bourgeoisie lost its revolutionary character and its democracy fell into decay, passing to the increasing process of reactionary-zation of the bourgeois state.

Mimicry of democratic republic

A republic implanted on a semifeudal and semicolonial economic-social base could only inherit institutions with the same DNA. Thus the changes in form that took place in the Brazilian political and electoral system were nothing more than adjustments in the pact between the local ruling classes to give a semblance of democracy to the dictatorship of the bourgeois-latifundia state lackey of imperialism.

The abolition of fraud vote, “census vote,” and the extension of the right to vote to women, illiterates, and corporal and soldiers, did not have the power to stir the foundations of an electoral system supported by latifundium oligarchies and Manipulated by the money of the great bourgeoisie and imperialism.

Petty Electioneering

In the absence of arguments to cover up their degeneration, wallowing in the mudslide of the other acronyms of the Single Party and its rotten methods, PT and Pecedobê, reaffirming their opportunist and revisionist nature, agree with the reactionaries for a way out for the salvation of all involved in the corruption scandals, as is clear to all, practiced for electoral and patrimonial purposes.

Among the salutary proposals discussed by the parliamentary bunch are the Parliamentarism, José Serra / PSDB project, and the list vote, both combined with a pure or mixed district vote and elections financed by the treasury. The most absurd, however, arose from PT as proposed by Deputy Vicente Cândido, as chair of the parliamentary committee that examines “political reform.” Candido shamelessly proposed the long-term eight-month pre-election election immunity to candidates for elected office, thus ensuring the possibility of a mandate for the corrupt, while freeing them from jail.

In fact, in a political system that since its origin is marked by casuistic changes, to maintain its rotten essence, this proposal does not cause the least astonishment. Coming from the opportunism of the PT, he only refers to his petty electoral process.

The swamp leftwing

Clinging to parliamentary cretinism, self-proclaiming on the leftwing, PT, Pecedobê and associates try to foist on the idea that the ideological specter of Brazilians boils down to the rotten circle of the Single Party, in the arrogant pretension of reducing reality to the swamp that once inhabited .

From a research by the Perseus Abramo Foundation and, more recently, a survey of the “Folha de São Paulo”, an organ of the press monopoly, this debate about the ideological spectrum of Brazilians develops within the electioneering opportunism and the intellectuals, surrendered and trained in the dictates of the single thought.

By insinuating trends on the right or left from the role of the state in the economy or the provision of public services, without highlighting the bourgeois-latifundian class character of the old genocidal Brazilian state, they try to frame public opinion by leading it to accept the rotten current political system, maintaining its management by reactionary and opportunists, in constant quarrels and collusions in an attempt to sabotage the management of this decrepit machine in an advanced stage of decomposition.

Birds of a feather

Seeking the false polarization between leftwing and rightwing or democracy and fascism, in fact, opportunism tries to blackmail the electorate to line it in the corral of the elections.

PT and Pecedobê demagogically stage protests against changes in labor and social security laws when the basis of these proposals originates from the opportunistic management of Luiz Inácio and Dilma Rousseff. The creation of a ceiling for spending was not Temer’s invention, it was presented by Nelson Barbosa, Dilma’s minister. Also the raising of the minimum age for retirement was already presented by Dilma.

The thirteen years of PT management were the withdrawal of workers’ rights and cooptation of the yellow trade union movement, which paved the way for the fierce attack by Temer, with the help of a Congress of bandits to pay capital and latifundia in service of imperialism.

Therefore, a polarization between the expansion of rights and dismantling of the coup is a fallacy. It no longer takes on the enticing and old opportunist thesis (defended since the 1950s by the rightist PCB leadership) of governments with a conservative and a progressive part, which in time cackles João Pedro Stédile, the national MST leadership, that PT management was a “government” in dispute and what is needed is strengthening the left.

Pure sham, although differing in speech and in detail, they are really birds of a feather.

Revolution Yes! Election No!

Revolutionaries can not forget the need to confront opportunism at a time when a revolutionary situation develops in the country, and in which the ruling classes are dizzy trying to maintain their old order and opportunism presents itself as their savior.

The Revolution is underway and will win with, without and despite the reactionary and opportunists. Trust in the masses and hit the road.
